Life Command

What it does

Life Command is a personal finance dashboard used by one individual — its developer — to manage their own household and small-business finances. It reads account balances, transactions, investment holdings, and liabilities in order to categorize spending, track budgets and savings goals, reconcile emailed receipts against posted charges, and produce periodic summaries of cash flow and net worth.

Data handling

Account connections. Account connections are provided by Plaid. Data used: account balances, transactions, investment holdings, and liabilities. Read-only — the application cannot move money.
Where it runs. The application runs entirely on the owner’s own machine. It accepts no connections from outside that machine.
Who uses it. There is exactly one user, who is also the only data subject. No other person’s data is collected, processed, or stored.
No sale of data. Financial data is never sold. Derived, masked summaries — containing no account numbers and no credentials — are sent to the Anthropic API to generate written financial analysis. That is the only external processor besides Plaid.
Access tokens. Plaid access tokens are encrypted at the application layer and destroyed immediately when an institution is unlinked.
Sign-in. Sign-in requires a password plus a mandatory time-based one-time code, with automatic session re-locking.
Transport. All traffic to Plaid and the model API uses TLS 1.2 or better.
Retention. Financial data is kept while the institution link is active and is deletable at any time. Unmatched email-receipt artifacts are archived automatically after 90 days.
